Grants are awarded to organizations in Mecklenburg County for efforts that directly andbest support the mission of the organization, which is to empower the citizenry of Mecklenburg County to take greater responsibility for enhancing their environment,thereby resulting in a community of pride and choice for people to live, work and recreate. Please follow the directions below for completing and submitting your application. Please note, we reserve the right to omit incomplete applications.

Please note Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful will receive application submittals from September 11, 2026. Completed applications and all supporting documents must be received by October 15, 2026, to be considered. All KMB Grant Application submissionsshould be emailed to: KMBGrantsGroup@MeckNC.gov.

Complete all sections of the Grant application. All KMB Grant Application submissions should be e-mailed to: KMBGrantsGroup@MeckNC.gov. Provide a complete description ofthe project to which the Grant will be applied. Include details on the population that the Grant will support, other partners that are participating in the project, the project timeline and date of completion, the area of the County that the project will take place in, why your organization is interested in this project, and any challenges you expect to encounter. All projects funded by the 2026 KMB Grant must be completed by July 1, 2027. Applicants should include proof of completed documentation (i.e. photographs, videos, invoices and/or receipts, or a written statement of how the proposal goals were met).

A cash or in-kind match to the requested funds is not necessary for approval. However, Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful appreciates efforts to leverage our funds, wishes to know how their contribution fits into the larger funding picture for your project, and who they are partnering with by funding a project.

If awarded the grant funds, all funds must be used solely for the express purpose of the project described in this application. Should the scope/purpose of the project change, anyother use of funds must be approved by the board in writing.

Applicants will be notified if the Board requires additional information. Appearance at the KMB Board meeting is not mandatory, it could potentially help the Board decide to fund your project. Applicants may be invited to attend a KMB meeting. During this meeting, the Applicant may be asked to describe your project and make an appeal for funding.

Please complete the questions below to describe your project. Funding decisions are at the discretion of the Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful Board.

Does your project fall on property that is not your own? If so, please provide a letter by the property owner providing permission to proceed with project implementation. The letter should include contact information for the property owner. Projects without property owner permission to proceed at time of application will not be considered.
