Proclamation Request Process:
All requests for proclamations must be submitted online and will be subject to a review and approval process. To ensure efficient processing, requests must be made at least four weeks in advance of the date the document is needed. Please allow up to 10 business days for a response. All fields marked with an asterisk must be completed. Please note - you must either upload the proclamation or type it in the specified field below for the form to be accepted.
Proclamation criteria:
- Draft text for the proclamation, should be kept to minimum to allow for seal and signature. We request no more than 5-7 “whereas” clauses.
- Proclamations will only be issued once per calendar year.
Issuance of a proclamation does not indicate or imply a policy endorsement from Mecklenburg County or the Board of County Commissioners.
- Requested draft language may be edited or rewritten at the discretion of Mecklenburg County staff. All submitted language must be factually accurate and include up-to-date information.
- Requests for proclamations are not renewed annually. Renewal requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
