Mecklenburg County Change of Address Form
Please complete this form if you need to:
- Update the property location or mailing address of business or individual personal property. This information will be submitted to the Mecklenburg County Assessor's Office. Please note: Registered motor vehicle addresses must be changed directly with the NC Department of Motor Vehicles at 919-717-7000.
- Update the mailing address of real estate property. This information will be submitted to Mecklenburg County GIS. Please note: If you have more then 5 mailing address changes, please do not complete this form. Email these changes to meckaddress@MeckNC.gov.

- Business personal property is all the personal property, income producing property, supplies, and leasehold improvements owned by a business or used by an individual for income purposes. Specific examples include:
  - Computer equipment and software
  - Leasehold improvements (improvements made to leased real property)
  - Machinery and equipment
  - Office furniture and fixture

- Individual personal property is property owned by an individual or individuals for personal use.
  
  Examples:
  - Aircraft, helicopters, blimps and hot air balloons
  - Boats of all kinds (outboard motors and jet skis)
  - Mobile homes with no permanent foundation (skirting that covers the axles, and attached hitch are indicators that the property should be listed)
  - Trailers (untagged and multi-year tagged, including boat trailers)
  - Travel trailers, camper trailers and RVs (untagged and unregistered)
  - Unregistered motor vehicles and unregistered motorcycles
